8/20/2008 Stitching at our Summit 2008
Kolor develops the highly regarded AutoPano Pro stitching software and joins as a sponsor of our summit. Bryce is an (if not the) ideal place to create panoramas. We also very likely have as a special guest the creator of the AutoMate 1.0 Pano Robot. He plans to bring some units for you to use at the summit. We show how to stitch these panos using AutoPano Pro.

8/7/2008 HDR Challenges: The Big Picture
8/6/2008 Panasonic & Olympus announce the new Micro Four Thirds System
From the press release "...Olympus Imaging Corporation (Olympus Imaging) and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) today announced joint development of technologies and devices for the "Micro Four Thirds System standard," a new standard that extends the benefits of the Four Thirds System standard for interchangeable lens type digital camera systems by enabling dramatic reductions in size and weight. Under the terms of an agreement between the two companies, they will work jointly toward commercial production of significantly lighter and more compact interchangeable lens type digital camera systems....".
This is big news because it creates a new camera category. Think of a Leica of the digital age (Leica even builds Four Thirds lenses). The sensor is huge compared to normal digicams and can nearly challenge the APS-C sensors in other DSLRs. If Olympus and Panasonic can improve the EVF quality by some margin it may challenge DSLRs a lot. The mirror is and was always a major design issues for SLR cameras.
